I Own My Car Now! I've been making monthly payments on my Toyota for five full years now and just a few days ago I got a refund check for 6 dollars and some-odd cents. At the time I was sort-of annoyed. "Really? You can't just keep the tiny overpayment towards next month?" But then a couple of days later I got another letter from them containing my title. I had an impromptu dance party in the kitchen, involving much jumping up and down and high-pitched squeaks of joy.
My Car has Air Conditioning Yesterday my co-worker suggested we try to beat the heat by grabbing a water ice from Rita's, but he asked that we take my car because it has AC. "You don't have AC?!?" I marveled. "How can you survive your commute?" It was then that he informed that he brings an extra pair of gym shorts and a t-shirt for the drive, which are soaking wet by the time he arrives, and then changes back into his work clothes. According to him: “I feel like I’m wading in the bayou.” Oy! Talk about gratitude! I LOVE my car.
Stories, more stories and the Story So I’ve been seriously digging the Write Club entries- two winners and two bouts still open for voting. Don’t forget to stop by, read, vote and get your chance to win a $75 Amazon gift card.
AND, as if that weren't enough, the Tree of Life: Branching Out collaboration is absolutely blowing my mind! So far Amy Willoughby-Burle, John Wiswell, M. Pax, Al Diaz and Gary Philip Pennick have contributed and it’s just fraking awesome. I’m up next Sunday and I can’t wait to see where the story’ll be by then!
And now, of course, it's time to hop. Happy Friday, everyone!

Congrats on getting that final payment complete :)
ReplyDeleteOh yes, AC is definitely something to celebrate. :)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on getting your title!
Nothing like owning your title!
ReplyDeleteAnd no AC? I couldn't do it. I would DIE.
Good luck with your Tree of Life piece.
Congrats on owning your car! What a great feeling! :)
ReplyDeleteYou own your car AND it has AC!! WIN!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on owning your car. You must be very proud. I'm enjoying the Write Club too. I have left you an award over on my blog if you are interested.
ReplyDeleteGreetings Beverley,
ReplyDeleteI'm here to celebrate your celebrating. Owning your car is always a great relief. Air conditioning is something I actually had to start using in England. Good grief, heat in England in the summer. A strange concept.
Ah yes, "The Write Club" and my starstruck fan, D.L. Hammons :)
I'm delighted you are part of the Tree of Life collaboration. It took some persuading to get me involved. I stay well clear of blog hops and blog fests and blog parties and help, that challenge that brings further awareness of the alphabet.
Wishing you much fulfilment with your excerpt. Thank you for the notation of my other friends and shy, humble me. Thank you for your thoughtful comment on my segment.
A good weekend to you.

Congratulations on your paid up, air-conditioned vehicle! *virtual high-5* What an accomplishment...
ReplyDeleteI've also been invited to participate in the writing collaboration! Woo-hoo!
When you have some time, pop over to my place, I have something special for you...

I hope you still treat your car good now that it's all yours. :) Yes, my car's AC doesn't work either and will cost too much to repair. Luckily, however, the weather hasn't been too outrageously hot to make it unbearable. Open windows do fine so far. Writer’s Mark
ReplyDeleteYay for your car, and double yay for the AC. I could do with that in my little oven, I mean car!
